The Surfer Joe Summer Festival is the largest gathering of surf music fans in the world. It is a great occasion for those who share the love for this unique music to meet new and old friends from all over the planet. This is a 4-day immersion into the world of instrumental surf music with an intense program of concerts, seminars and various attractions, all happening mere steps away from the Mediterranean Sea along the beautiful coast of Tuscany. Since 2003 there have been 11 editions of the festival without any musical compromise. The SJSF proudly keeps things authentic and offers a true representation of the global surf music scene by showcasing many of its best bands. |

ALDO PEDRON is one of the greatest Italian music journalists, with an experience that goes back in time to when he was no more than a young guy. Since 1966 he has been a fan
of surf and beach music and he started writing about this all in the early 70s, but his speciality are the Beach Boys. So after 4 decades of knowledge here comes the first book about the

Where is surf music coming from? We have been talking about the early surf bands, but not about where the surf sound got its inspiration.
LINK WRAY is a major reference and one of the greatest guitar heroes, so let's learn about him together with a musician that has been heavily influenced by Link throughout his career: RUDI PROTRUDI (The Fuzztones, Link Protrudi & The Jaymen).

Well it is certainly not the first time that a world famous artist come to Surfer Joe, but this time is a very special one: the biggest name in Tiki & Exotica illustration and design.
A real "specialist" of the mid-century modern style represented by his unique hand in a unlimited number of characters, decorations and merchandise. It's time to know who SHAG is!
SURF GUITAR MASTER CLASS Tiki Room @ 5 PM 
Prepare yourself for a fun and refreshing take on Surf Guitar technique, style and tone in one interactive surf guitar master class. As one of Southern California's premier
guitar players, Jason will be adding some fun and different approaches to surf guitar that you've never seen before. Hot Rod tones, nasty fuzz and huge reverb await!
The class will be a relaxed format in 3 sections to create a smooth flow.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE The class is FREE, but it would be nice (although not necessary) to receive reservations in order to prepare the space for everybody. and the composer of several classic tunes. The FENDER IV has been one of the most influential surf bands of all times: this is where we will start our conversation to find out how was to play
surf music in the 60s!

Join us for the final happening to release the stress with a Tiki Cocktails tasting party! The staff of the Surfer Joe Tiki Room is going to work with DAVIDE MITACCHIONE
from the LUAU TIKI BAR of Bari to put together some delicious tropical and exotic drinks,
whether they are classics or original creations.

It is with great pleasure that we announce once more the participation of NSSR for the non-stop transmission of the event! Not everybody has the possibility to come over and enjoy the festival in person. So the festival will come to you with concerts, interviews and special programs hosted by the DJs of the radio. North Sea Surf Radio is a web radio playing 24/7 instrumental surf music and showcasing everything that comes into the genre. An amazing library of music that goes back to the 60s and arrives to the last record just released today. The founder of NSSR is NIELS JENSEN - media expert, musician and surf fan - who managed to make this service a milestone for the community with the support of many DJs from around the world. |

TIKI CULTURE
Ungawa! was the Italian pioneer of Tiki Bars and a reference for cool music.
Since it joined Surfer Joe and moved to Livorno we have continued this experience with the same energy, proposing events and concerts all year round in our Tiki Room. |
TIKI DRINKS
The Tiki culture is well known as "the art of drinking" and so we are glad to offer some tiki cocktails at our bar. Besides the classic Mai Tai do not miss to try our original drinks: WIPEOUT, SURFER GROG and ITALIAN ZOMBIE. |

TIKI CARVING
This is going to be again an important part of our festival: the carvers will create statues out of pieces of wood in front of your eyes.

SKATEBOARDING
For the third year the skateboard ramp will be present at the festival in the main stage area. The local skate team will showcase throughout the day, but the ramp is freely open for everybody. |

The panoramic wheel has become a symbol for the Surfer Joe Fest in the past years and it will give you the unique chance to overlook the Terrazza Mascagni and the event with its romantic spinning. |

ACQUARIUM
While in Livorno make sure to take your time and visit the nice Acquarium which is right at the festival location. It is good time spent with your kids and an extra attraction you can enjoy at Surfer Joe. |

At the Surfer Joe Diner and Food Truck you can find a large menu including burgers, salads, finger food, meals and sweets. There are veggie and vegan friendly offers.
